Jeff joined Nonprofit Financial Solutions in 2008 after working with nonprofits for over 18 years. Shortly after college Jeff worked for a nonprofit organization in Ecuador, South America helping their offices transition from manual accounting systems to a computer-based system. Upon returning to the US, Jeff took a position with Capin Crouse, LLP, a leading national accounting firm dedicated to serving the nonprofit community. Jeff worked as a senior auditor serving faith-based organizations, universities, and nonprofit associations.
Additionally Jeff served for over twelve years with Kingdom Building Ministries in Denver, Colorado both as the Accounting Director and Chief Financial Officer. Jeff also held the position of Accounting Director for Equip, a nonprofit founded by well-known speaker and author, Dr. John C. Maxwell. In these positions, Jeff helped the organizations significantly improve their financial and donor management software, as well as acted as a key player with senior leadership staff regarding cashflow management, budgeting, compliance issues, and strategic planning.
Jeff has a deep passion for helping nonprofits excel with their software and accounting systems, providing reliable financial information in a timely way to help nonprofits make better financial decisions.
Jeff graduated Magna Cum Laude from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. Jeff has been licensed to practice as a CPA in Colorado since 1995. Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Colorado CPA Society, and Christian Leadership Alliance.
Jeff and his wife Lorraine have four children and reside in Denver, Colorado.

Dave joined Nonprofit Financial Solutions in 2009, after serving as Director of Finance with an international education and training organization. For a portion of his directorship, he and his family served in east Asia, where he helped resolve many of the finacial challenges faced by international organizations today. During a significant multi-entity organization restructuring, Dave worked with legal counsel to ensure financial, compliance and practical considerations were appropriately addressed. He led the organization through the risk assessment and controls documentation process, and he continues to provide consulting to organization leadership for their monitoring, compliance, and internal review needs.
Prior to his work serving the nonprofit community, Dave worked as a tax consultant with Ernst & Young, LLP, a large international firm, and then served in a similar role with a regional accounting firm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In both firms, Dave specialized in helping client plan strategically while complying with relevant federal and state tax laws.
Dave graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas as a member of the Professional Program for Accounting with both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science degree. Dave is licensed to practice as a CPA in Texas. He is also a member of the Christian Leadership Alliance and is a Certified Financial Planner® Professional.
Dave, his wife Kristen and daughter Katelyn live in the Dallas, Texas area. He and his family are active members at The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas, where he serves in the Financial Management and Counseling ministry.

Gary has served for 34 years in financial and administrative leadership, including not-for-profit and manufacturing. For the past 15 years, he was the Vice President/Chief Financial Officer for Food for the Hungry, an international disaster relief and community development ministry. Prior to that, Gary was for 9 years the Controller for a manufacturing company in the animal health industry. He has taught as an adjunct instructor of Finance and Accounting at various colleges, as well as led in-house training in Balanced Scorecard, Activity-Based Management and Management Resource Planning.
This combined experience provides strengths in the areas of financial planning and analysis, process improvement and risk management, global finance team leadership, grant management and compliance, operations and strategy management, integration of cross-functional operations, senior leadership role with Audit Committee and Board of Directors, and mentoring of individuals and teams. In addition to financial management, his broad roles have included leadership to the areas of Information systems, human resources, facilities and administrative services, and liaison with outside legal counsel.
With Nonprofit Financial Solutions, Gary seeks to serve nonprofit organizations by developing people and building capabilities. His passion and motivation focus on assisting organizations to effectively fulfill their mission with excellence in stewardship and accountability. Through interim, part-time and project-based engagements, Gary’s objectives relate to competency growth through learning and equipping, assessing and identifying, and developing and improving in collaboration with client leadership and staff.
Gary has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drake University and a Master of Arts in Leadership Development from Phoenix Seminary. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona, a member of both the American Institute and Arizona Society of CPA’s, and Certified in Production and Inventory Management. Gary also participates in the Christian Leadership Alliance, Mission Exchange, Institute of Management Consultants and Financial Executives International.
Married for 37 years, Gary and Linda have four adult children and six grandchildren. They live in Phoenix, Arizona and are active members of Scottsdale Bible Church. Gary serves on the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability Standards Committee and is a volunteer counselor to small businesses with the Greater Phoenix SCORE Chapter.

For over 20 years, Jim has provided financial leadership in the nonprofit industry. His experience includes 8 years as Chief Financail Officer and Board Treasurer with Stonecroft Ministries, an evangelistic organization serving hundreds of volunteer teams across the US with Bible study materials and outreach support. Prior to this, he served 11 years as CFO with YouthFront. His experience with these two organizations included active leadership in all phases of operations including: human resources, fundraising, and operations. Prior to joining the team at NFS in 2010, Jim worked for two years with a local bookkeeping firm that serves nonprofit organizations and churches.
Jim's desire to is come alongside leaders in growing organizations as they seek to improve areas affecting the needs of the organizations they serve. He has worked with several organizations to understand how regulations issued by the IRS, Department of Labor, and other governing authorities directly affect their organization. He has also helped organizations understand how improved financial reporting and processes can improve efficiencies and provide valuable information to internal and external stakeholders.
Jim is a graduate of Evangel University. He is a board member at Blue Springs Assembly and enjoys reading, playing golf, and being with his family. He has been married since 1991 to Robyne, has a son in high school, and lives in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Dana Larson
Dana has over 20 years of experience in selecting, implementing and managing complex financial accounting systems for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations of all sizes. Dana has also served as a CFO to nonprofit organizations for most of the last decade.
Dana began her professional career in 1990 as a consultant for Arthur Andersen in their Business Systems Consulting unit, where she implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for a number of large corporations. After five years at Andersen, Dana was recruited by the multinational enterprise software company J.D. Edwards. Dana held various positions at J.D. Edwards including marketing manager and HR project manager.
In 2002, Dana and her husband, Tom, founded a nonprofit called Healing Waters International to provide clean drinking water through local churches in impoverished communities. By the time Dana moved on from her role as CFO and co-founder of the organization in 2009, Healing Waters had grown to have thirty employees in four countries, an annual budget of more than $2 million, and 60+ projects that cumulatively provided enough drinking water for 100,000 people on a daily basis.
Immediately prior to joining NFS in 2010, Dana worked as an accounting systems consultant and interim CFO for various nonprofit and for-profit clients. She also worked as a Field Reviewer for ECFA, the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, performing governance and financial reviews of member organizations.
Dana holds a BA from Point Loma Nazarene University and an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Denver. She currently serves on the board of Lookout Mountain Community Church in Golden, Colorado. Dana has been married since 1987 and lives in Evergreen, Colorado, with her husband, Tom, and two daughters, Sara and Casey.
